We'd like to welcome Rush L who is arriving this week from Louisiana - he came for May Day festivities which are one of the locals' favorite holidays here is, "May Day is Lei Day" and there are flower leis everywhere!

There is also a social media conference with a great speaker lineup (including our own Rox!) so please consider joining us for that too.

Aloha and Welcome to The Reef!

The Reef is a community of kind, smart people many of whom find their way here from the Internet TV Show, Beach Walks with Rox. (It's playing in the left column.) In nature, the reef is where animals and plants are alive and thriving in living color! It is the place just off shore from the safety and security of the land, what we think of as the known world. On the other side of the reef is the deep blue sea, where dreams are hatched and the unknown supports us in powerful ways.

We hang out here to have conversations and support about a wide range of topics. Diversity of opinion is welcome. If you are coming to Hawaii, let Shane and Rox know - we try to arrange meetups now and then, especially when visitors are in town.

Susan, of "Susan and my dog Lexie" is our guardian angel, who greets new members and helps keep it friendly here.

Mahalo for stopping by. We look forward to meeting you.

Aloha,

Rox, Shane, and our dog Lexi

Summer Fun

It was a great get away and learning experience for me. I went to what is called a GS Challenge. The owners of BMW GS motorbikes get together and run a series of challenging courses to see how well you do and to learn how to ride in adverse conditions. The challenges I thought would be the hardest I passed with out a problem Try riding a 500 lb bike though deep sand!!! Made It! and it was very kewl to put my trust in the bike and my skills and make through no problem.

Comment on Beach Walk 744 – USS Nimitz Steel Beach #1 by Morph Review

Aloha! Since I've put in a bit of time in the previous hour or so reading through your articles, I decided I might slide in a brief comment in your blog comments to say hey. I'm totally liking what you have made here with your blog and I do hope you keep writing it. In any case I will not take up any more of your time, I wanted to say howdy and mahalo.

Comment on Beach Walk 606 – Bill Explains How to Be Bionic by Rox

Dear Norm - Yes! Of course! He will be thrilled to see it being shared - I am certain he is still here with us in some fashion. I suggest you download the iPod version - and if you have any issues at all please let me know and I will send you a high quality version directly. (Keeping in mind I filmed this with a little handheld camera, and not our usual "rig."

Comment on Beach Walk 762 – Whale Instead of Sail on Maui by B.Traveller

Well, it's been a while since I've left a comment, and so I'm glad you're still creating new Beachwalks from time to time! I really enjoyed the underwater ambiance, makes me excited for when I eventually visit those beautiful islands... Curious, how did you get the underwater shot? Do you have a special camera, or did you get an underwater housing for a non-underwater camera?
